Arsenal can land Alexandre Lacazette for £60m this summer

Arsenal will have the opportunity of landing Alexandre Lacazette in the summer with Lyon having given up on keeping hold of their star man.

The France international is lining up a fresh challenge in a new league after proving himself on a seasonal basis for Les Gones. Lacazette has bagged over 20 goals in each of his last four campaigns, and he is now eager to push himself further in a bigger league.

According to The Telegraph, the Gunners could sense a chance of landing the frontman following negotiations between manager Arsene Wenger and Les Gones’ hierarchy in Nice last week. The 26-year-old had previously hinted that Champions League football could be key to his move with Atletico Madrid being his prime destination.

However, with the Spanish club failing to overcome their transfer ban, the striker has had a change of thought as he eyes a lucrative wage package at a club where he would be deemed as a regular in the starting lineup. Lacazette has come through a 37 goal season with his hometown club, and he is said to be frustrated with the lack of progress at Lyon when compared to their rival teams. There are reports in England that Arsenal long-time manager Arsene Wenger has a contract drawn up by the club already to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium farther.

The French manager has refused to confirm if he would exit Arsenal at the end of the season though he has mentioned that retirement was out of the option.

There is a lot of grievance towards the manager over his perceived stance on the transfer market. Funny enough analyses reveal that Wenger’s expenses on talents in the last two transfer windows are slightly higher than that of their competitors.

Sol Campbell says he believes Wenger will renew his deal with the club at the end of the year while Dion Dublin opines that Wenger should be forced to spend money on players this summer.

“I would say keep hold of Mr Wenger, give him some money to spend. Yes, he’s had it. I know, but give him some money to spend, force him to spend it, make him bring young players in and Arsenal can challenge,” Dublin advised. Arsenal ends interest in Lacazette

Arsenal who are still in the market for a new striker has reportedly ended their interest in Alexandre Lacazette.

They believe that Alexandre Lacazette is not worth the £42m being asked by Lyon and that they will prefer to pursue other options.

After failing to land Jamie Vardy, it is believed that Arsene Wenger had turned his sight towards the Lyon striker. Unfortunately for him, Lyon is not keen to allow their star player to leave on the cheap. They are prepared to sell the player but if the right offer comes in but at the moment Arsenal is not prepared to pay big money for him. Indeed, this will put Lacazette on par with players such as Mesut Ozil and he clearly is not in the same league at the moment.

Alexandre Lacazette has had an impressive season in France where he scored 23 goals in 43 appearances. His good performance in Ligue 1 has attracted the interest of many European clubs and it is believed that West Ham have also made offers for the players. However, it is believed that Alexandre Lacazette is not keen on joining West Ham and would prefer a much bigger club. Continue reading “Arsenal ends interest in Lacazette”

Hector Bellerin has welcomed a break before Premier League

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has welcomed a break from the heavy schedule of the Premier League.

The league gets a two-week break due to international action. Even though a big club like Arsenal have a number of players going out on international duty, there will be a number of players who get a well-deserved break. After all, the team put behind their recent poor run of form to get a 2-0 win against Everton. The win keeps them in the race with Leicester City and Tottenham according to the defender. However, Leicester are already 11 points ahead in the table.

Many feel that Arsenal are pursuing a title that is already lost. Bellerin thinks otherwise and expects teams to drop points in the remaining eight games. For Arsenal to take advantage of those dropped points, the club needs to be in a strong position. Since Arsenal do not have any other distractions from now till the end of the season,Bellerin wants a focused title challenge. He says that it is not be on the possibility for a top team like Arsenal to go on a winning run of eight matches. Bellerin has gone from being an unknown a few years ago to put himself as one of the important defenders at Arsenal. Continue reading “Hector Bellerin has welcomed a break before Premier League”

Arsene Wenger comes down on Club after pood Performance

Arsene Wenger has come down hard at his boys for their horrible performance in defence the other day versus AS Monaco.

It was the opening leg of one of the knockout ties of the Gunners in the champions League and they lost it by 1-3.

Now, if they have to advance in the tournament, they must win the return leg by a margin of 3 or more goals.

Arsenal has been getting knocked out from the pre quarter final stage in Europe for the previous 4 years and they would not want to let it happen to them again.

But, after losing so heavily, they have an uphill task in their hands now.

Wenger reckons that his team probably attacked a bit more than they should have and that’s because they got carried away with the occasion. Continue reading “Arsene Wenger comes down on Club after pood Performance”
