Arsene Wenger has stunningly revealed that he would love to manage a club in German football because he has a lot of affinity. This statement has put his future under major doubt since his contract with Arsenal comes to an end in the next few months. Wenger is yet to sign the new contract, which has been on the table for a long period now. It is highly anticipated that the Frenchman will sign on the dotted line if Arsenal lift the FA Cup. They face Hull City in the final of the competition.
Wenger has come in for severe criticism due to the failure to get a major trophy in the last nine years. It is believed that he wants to win the FA Cup before signing, but there is a danger of the Frenchman allowing the contract to lapse in the event of not doing so. A number of clubs have been enquiring about services over the last few years. Real Madrid and PSG were heavily interested in him only last summer. Wenger has revealed that the media should not be too concerned about the lack of movement in the contract. He has asked them to believe that he will sign the deal.
Wenger may be linked with Bayern Munich if Arsenal fail to extend his contract.
“If I was to go somewhere then I think it would be in a different country because I am so much Arsenal that I would not like to coach anywhere else in England. Germany (is an option) because I am of German culture a little bit and it’s a country where I have never worked and I am very close to it. No, don’t worry. Don’t be too impatient. My last time will come. You’ll get rid of me one day,” said Wenger.
