Arsene Wenger has said that Arsenal should put all their efforts into the match against AC Milan in the last 16 of the Champions League. Arsenal will be facing AC Milan in the second leg of the Champions League knowing that they should be giving more than 100% in order to have any chance of getting into the quarter-finals. Arsenal trail the tie by four goals after having lost the first leg 4-0. If Arsenal managed to turn this one around, then they would become the first team in the history of the Champions League to overturn a four goal deficit from the first leg in order to qualify for the next round.

Even though the chances of Arsenal making it into the quarter-finals of the Champions League look extremely bleak, Arsene Wenger has said that his players should not worry about the result and should give all their efforts into the match. Arsenal will certainly be feeling confident going into the match – despite the first leg deficit – due to the fact that they have been extremely brilliant in the last two matches. Arsenal beat Tottenham 5-2 last weekend, while this weekend they managed to end Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League by beating them 2-1 at Anfield.

“When you are a top-level competitor, even if statistically we have a 5% chance, what is important is that we believe that we can be in this 5%. That is what is at stake for us. Let’s make sure that we do not miss out because we did not believe in it,” Arsene Wenger said ahead of the match with AC Milan. He is expected to have a fully fit squad for the match. Deportivo La Coruña were the last team to overturn a three-goal deficit, but no team has overturned a four goal deficit.
