Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright said that Arsenal would be in trouble this season if they do not spend big money before the transfer window closes.
He stated that there is no way this team will win the league and that manager Arsene Wenger will have to invest massively in new players. Ian Wright was speaking just after the defeat against Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
He believes that the younger Arsenal players lack experience and that they will not be able to move the club forward at the moment. Ian Wright said that he cannot understand Arsene Wenger’s decision not to sign players. For the former England international, Arsenal needs at least a player in attack and another one in defence. He believes that the club can win the title this season if the right personnel is recruited before the end of the transfer window.
Arsene Wenger has stated that the club is still active in the transfer market and that the right player will be recruited if a deal can be agreed. At the moment there are no serious offers on the table, and it is believed that Arsenal will be facing Leicester in the weekend with no new players.

Arsenal who are still in the market for a new striker has reportedly ended their interest in Alexandre Lacazette.
They believe that Alexandre Lacazette is not worth the £42m being asked by Lyon and that they will prefer to pursue other options.
After failing to land Jamie Vardy, it is believed that Arsene Wenger had turned his sight towards the Lyon striker. Unfortunately for him, Lyon is not keen to allow their star player to leave on the cheap. They are prepared to sell the player but if the right offer comes in but at the moment Arsenal is not prepared to pay big money for him. Indeed, this will put Lacazette on par with players such as Mesut Ozil and he clearly is not in the same league at the moment.
Alexandre Lacazette has had an impressive season in France where he scored 23 goals in 43 appearances. His good performance in Ligue 1 has attracted the interest of many European clubs and it is believed that West Ham have also made offers for the players. However, it is believed that Alexandre Lacazette is not keen on joining West Ham and would prefer a much bigger club. Continue reading “Arsenal ends interest in Lacazette”
English teams Arsenal and Liverpool are in a race to sign Bayern Munich’s talented player Mario Gotze.
The German has been getting fewer first team action with incoming coach Carlo Ancelotti not keen in changing that anytime soon. This has left EPL teams scrambling to add the player to their line up.
The player was believed would join up with his former manager at Borussia Dortmund, Jurgen Klopp who is now at Liverpool but the German shut down such rumours when he said he would not be going. The Reds are still adamant and want him to join them but Arsenal are reported to also be keen on landing the player this summer.
Arsenal are in a bid to revamp the team after another failed quest at winning the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, despite many attempts. The Sun reveals that Arsene Wenger is an admirer of the player and would be willing to shell out as much as £27million to land the German this summer, so he can contribute to their next attempt. Arsenal is willing to shell out possibly more to land the player, especially after missing out on signing Edinson Cavani as French champions Paris Saint-Germain have offered him a new bumper contract to keep him at the club. Arsenal, who have lost all chances of winning the Premier League title, this season currently have a fully fit squad.
Indeed, Santi Cazorla and Oxlade-Chamberlain have all rejoined the squad for full training.
Multiple injuries have disrupted Arsenal season, and this has undermined their chances of winning the title this season. In a season where the big teams such as Manchester City and Chelsea have failed to perform at their best level, this was the best opportunity for Arsenal to win the title since 2004.
This lack of results has prompted fans to ask Arsene Wenger to leave the club. Banners have regularly been displayed during Arsenal games as they feel that a change in management will be needed if they want to compete again at the top. For them fourth place is not enough and they want Arsenal to compete for the title.
Jack Wilshere already made his return to the first team on Sunday in the match against Sunderland. Arsenal failed to score a goal in this game, and the match ended 0-0. This result has ended all hopes for the title, and they now have to focus on securing their Champions League place. Continue reading “For the first time, this season Arsenal have a fully fit squad”
Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has welcomed a break from the heavy schedule of the Premier League.
The league gets a two-week break due to international action. Even though a big club like Arsenal have a number of players going out on international duty, there will be a number of players who get a well-deserved break. After all, the team put behind their recent poor run of form to get a 2-0 win against Everton. The win keeps them in the race with Leicester City and Tottenham according to the defender. However, Leicester are already 11 points ahead in the table.
Many feel that Arsenal are pursuing a title that is already lost. Bellerin thinks otherwise and expects teams to drop points in the remaining eight games. For Arsenal to take advantage of those dropped points, the club needs to be in a strong position. Since Arsenal do not have any other distractions from now till the end of the season,Bellerin wants a focused title challenge. He says that it is not be on the possibility for a top team like Arsenal to go on a winning run of eight matches. Bellerin has gone from being an unknown a few years ago to put himself as one of the important defenders at Arsenal. Continue reading “Hector Bellerin has welcomed a break before Premier League”
Theo Walcott is of the view that Arsenal will have to show respect to their opponents in knockouts in Europe, something which they had failed to do the previous season and had paid the price for.
Arsenal had a slightly easier run in the group stage in the Champions League in 2014-15. They won 4 out of their games to get to Round of 16 where they bumped into Monaco whom they did not take seriously at all and the result was an embarrassing defeat of 1-3 in the home leg.
Later, the Gunners bounced back in the return leg, winning it by 2-0 and getting the aggregate score to 3-3, but, because of the fact that they conceded one more goal than the opposition at home, they proved to be the losers of the tie as per the rules of UEFA and suffered elimination.
According to Theo Walcott, one of the leading strikers of the Gunners, everyone has learnt from what happened back then and the mistake is not going to be repeated. Continue reading “Theo Walcott is of the view that Arsenal will have to show respect”
Arsene Wenger remains defiant that the gunners will be able to challenge for the title in the upcoming campaign.
Many have questioned the quality within Arsenal to sustain a title challenge over the course of the campaign, but Wenger feels that the team has substantially improved in recent years. This is demonstrated by the back-to-back FA Cup titles that the club has managed to achieve. However, these titles have come against lesser teams in the form of Hull City and Aston Villa. Arsenal have not beaten a top team in the final of a major competition nor have they been in contention for the league title throughout the season.
In the case of last campaign, Arsenal were left looking at Chelsea win the title quite comfortably with a 12 point advantage over the London outfit. Wenger expects a much improved performance in the league from his team. However, Arsenal have made just one major signing in this transfer window. Petr Cech, who spent much of last season as the backup to Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea, has arrived for £ 10 million, but he remains a world-class goalkeeper nonetheless. Apart from the shot stopper, Arsenal are yet to make some important signings. Continue reading “Arsene Wenger remains defiant that the gunners”
Arsene Wenger managed to once again put behind them negative criticism and put Arsenal on the path towards title success. The club won the FA Cup for the second consecutive season and this time around they managed to beat Aston Villa. A 4-0 victory in the final was extremely well-deserved for the gunners, who controlled the encounter from start to finish. This victory has made Arsenal as the most successful club in the FA Cup history with 12 titles to their name. More importantly, expectations will now increase for the upcoming Premier League season and manager Wenger says that he retains the hunger for a league title.
The ambition from Arsenal has been questioned on several occasions in recent years since they have been failing to mount a title challenge for almost a decade. The club last won the title back in the 2003-04 season. Amidst rumours about an impending exit for Wenger, the Frenchman stated that he has two years left on his contract and intends to reclaim the league title before it ends. This could be the last contract for the former Monaco manager, who will be edging towards 70 by the time this current contract runs out.
